Alyssa Kinser

As an Associate at Global IP, Alyssa helps clients capture the full value of their innovations through patent monetization and enforcement. She performs infringement and invalidity assessments, evaluates portfolios for strength and value, and prepares litigation documents for filing with trial and appellate courts as well as the PTAB. Her matters span technologies including wireless communication and charging, voice-control interfaces, location-based services, and digital advertising.

Alyssa earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was an Honors Scholar and graduated cum laude. At Chicago-Kent, Alyssa pursued patent-related coursework in areas like emerging technology and oral advocacy in intellectual property, the latter earning her a spot in the Giles Sutherland Rich Patent Moot Court Competition.

Alyssa came to patent law from the lab bench. She holds a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience from Binghamton University, where she studied the genetics of impulsivity and substance use disorders under an NIH training grant and published her work in peer-reviewed journals. That training is the foundation of her legal work: she reads patents, prior art, and dense technical records the way their inventors do, and turns them into arguments that clients and courts can follow. Alyssa also holds an M.S. and a B.S. in behavior analysis from the University of North Texas.
